What happens when you take a path that doesn’t already exist? For the next One Room Talks, we’re joined by Donell Hammond, whose journey has taken him from attending podcast workshops in secondary school to working at one of the biggest music labels in the world. Donell’s journey hasn’t followed a conventional route. His story is about trusting your intuition, putting yourself out there and being willing to figure things out when there isn’t a clear roadmap to follow. Starting a career from scratch is never easy, especially when there isn’t an obvious route into the industry or a set of prerequisites to guide you. So, how do you find your way in, create opportunities for yourself and keep moving forward? We’ll be sitting down with Donell to talk about his journey so far, the lessons he’s learnt along the way and what it really takes to build a career when you’re starting out. As one of the first young people to engage with our programmes, we’re especially excited to welcome Donell back to share his experiences and insights with the next generation.
